Hello!

My name is Jo. I am a musician, artist, and Sagittarian. I grew up in Olympia, WA, and was primarily raised by my grandmother, CJ who had her own practice as a spiritual life coach and psychic mentor. She was also my mentor in self-love, social justice, accountability, and community care. I began working as her assistant when I was a teenager and helped redesign her website, manage social media content, publish newsletters, promote events, and interface with clients. At the same time, I was volunteering with a local non-profit and became a leader in their youth peer education program focused on preventing domestic violence and sexual assault. I did similar event planning and design work while facilitating groups and workshops with community members of all ages. These experiences sparked passion and creativity as I discovered my love for community building and design. I felt empowered to be myself in safe communities as I navigated challenges at home and school. My grandmother passed away during my junior year of high school on November 11th, 2019. With her love and support guiding me, I graduated that year and left home to study design at the University of Washington.

My freshman year of college began in the Fall of 2020 and it was obviously not the experience I had been dreaming of. I was essentially living in isolation in my dorm room and recovering from a serious knee injury while I took online classes and processed the death of my grandmother. My two loves at this point were my self-produced college radio show and the labor rights organizing group I was a part of. Being one of the most challenging periods of my life, recognizing these passions eventually guided me to move to Portland, OR where I attended Portland State University and earned my Bachelor’s in Sonic Arts & Music Production in 2024. While I had experimented with producing audiovisual content and writing music throughout high school, this is where I gained confidence and professional experience as I explored new projects. I volunteered as a recording engineer for PSU’s theater program, I became the tech director at the campus radio station (KPSU), I worked at an art center where I ran art activities for youth and provided AV support, and I produced podcasts and music with my friends and classmates. I also began doing freelance assistant work when astrologer Rosie Finn asked me to help redesign her website and produce her new podcast.

Now, I am expanding my freelance work and offering a wide variety of services. I am uniquely equipped to support practitioners and small businesses who wish to produce content, launch new projects, and connect with clients in an era where social and professional networking largely depends on digital mediums. In all of my work I prioritize open communication, mutual respect, integrity, social justice, and curiosity. I am most passionate about connecting people in community and supporting individuals in pursuing their dreams and allowing their true selves to shine. I use my technical and creative experience to uplift the vision my clients have for their practices. My process is flexible and collaborative while providing structures and routines that ensure efficient, consistent work.

Outside of work, I love traveling, attending shows or karaoke nights, and spending time with my two kitties and my chosen family and friends. I create art through music, collage, drawing, and fiber arts (sewing, weaving, etc.). I also do moon and season rituals, study astrology, and trade tarot readings with my 10-year-old sibling. You might also find me watching bad reality TV or having a very enthusiastic discussion about some pop culture topic.
